On the morning of September 4, rescuers received information about voices coming from under the rubble in the hydroelectric power station tunnel. Following this, rescuers from the Nepalese army and police began the search. Equipment was also working at the site. Later, Neupane reported that rescuers found one of the people trapped under the rubble alive. According to him, there could be other people remaining in the tunnel, so the search continued. Soon, rescuers discovered another person. "The rescue operation is ongoing," he added. The Kathmandu Post specified that the rescued individuals were mechanic foreman Sanjay Sah and mechanical equipment supervisor Kabir Mahardjan. Both men were involved in the construction of the Trishuli 3A hydroelectric power station. According to the Nepalese newspaper, the men were airlifted to Kathmandu. Sah was directed to the Birendra Army Hospital in Chhauni, while Mahardjan was taken to the National Trauma Center. The flooding in Nepal at the end of August occurred due to a massive glacier and rock collapse in the high Himalayas. A mass of ice and stones fell into the Lende River (part of the Bhote Kosi and Trishuli river basins) in the Langtang National Park area and the border zone with Tibet. The number of fatalities from the flooding has exceeded 1,100 people. Another 4,858 people are reported missing.
