During the exercises, units will perform tactical tasks related to attack and defense, practicing their ability to operate in various conditions, ensure cooperation, and maintain combat readiness after redeployment to the exercise area. The "Oak Projection" exercises are part of the preparation of the multinational NATO brigade in Latvia for larger planned exercises in the fall. From now until September 7, military equipment and personnel will be moving to the training ground. Tracked military vehicles from Garkalne will be transported by rail to the Sece station and then to the training ground, while columns of wheeled military vehicles from the Adazi military base will move along the roads in three separate groups to minimize the impact on traffic flows. During the exercises, flights of Canadian Armed Forces CH-146 "Griffon" helicopters will also take place between the Adazi military base and the training ground. From September 11 to 14, military equipment and personnel will return to the Adazi base. The National Armed Forces urge residents to understand the movement of military equipment and helicopter flights, as well as possible short-term disruptions in road traffic.
