A song titled "My Place in History" was recorded many years ago. In 2015, Parton placed it in a special "dream box" at the Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. According to the singer's directive, the box cannot be opened until January 19, 2045. It is reported that inside there is not only a disc with the recording but also a CD player. Parton also included instructions for its use in case such technology becomes completely outdated by then. Representatives of Dollywood stated that the composition was specifically written for the future and dedicated to the hopes and dreams of the singer about what the world will be like decades later. Back in 2021, Parton admitted that no one should hear the song until she turns 99 years old. At the same time, the singer joked that she herself does not know if she will be present at the opening of the capsule. Two years later, Parton told Jimmy Fallon that at times she regretted her decision. According to her, the composition turned out so well that she wanted to retrieve the recording and replace it with another song. However, the conditions remained unchanged. Thus, the public will be able to hear "My Place in History" for the first time only in 2045 — 30 years after the recording was sealed in the time capsule. Dolly Parton passed away in August 2026. After a private farewell ceremony, the singer was buried in Nashville next to her husband Carl Dean, with whom she was married for about 60 years.
