The central metaphor of this year's festival will be a pearl, and visitors are invited to become pearl seekers. "Each 'pearl' will have its own story. In one place, it will be expressed through music, in another, it will be visible in visual arts or dance, and in a third, it will be discovered in craft traditions and their modern interpretations. Together, they will form a unified story about the cultural diversity of Daugavpils and Latgale, linking traditional values with contemporary art and creativity," the event organizers promise. The musical program of the festival will feature the folk-metal band "Varang Nord," formed in Daugavpils, which has released four full-length studio albums and two EPs since 2014, as well as the Daugavpils rock band "Dabasu durovys" — one of the first groups performing rock music in the Latgalian language. The festival will also host the traditional klezmer music ensemble "Latgales klezmeri" from Rēzekne, and DJ Gatis will provide musical accompaniment at various festival venues. "The architecture and lighting will also create a special atmosphere for the festival. The illumination of buildings and artistic solutions will help transform the street into a unified festive space and allow the everyday urban environment to reveal itself in a new form," the festival organizers report about their plans. The first Rigas Street Festival in Daugavpils took place in the early 1990s, but the tradition was revived in 2014.
