The Riga District Court decided to uphold the verdict of the first instance court, which was appealed by Jeske and the representative of the victim. It was previously reported that the first instance court found Jeske guilty of four offenses under part four of Article 160 of the Criminal Law. This article provides for punishment for sexual acts aimed at satisfying sexual desire through physical contact with the victim's body, if they resulted in serious consequences or were committed against a person under the age of 16, using the victim's helpless state or against their will — with the use of violence, threats, or abuse of trust, authority, or other influence. For such a crime, imprisonment for a term of five to 15 years and probation supervision for up to five years is provided. **Admitted Guilt and Cooperated with the Investigation** During the criminal proceedings, the accused admitted his guilt and cooperated with the leading official in the process, choosing a simplified form of concluding the criminal proceedings — a plea agreement and sentencing. As previously reported by LETA in the prosecutor's office, the parties initially agreed on a punishment of ten years of imprisonment. However, the court did not approve the agreement. After its conclusion, the representatives of the victims decided to exercise their right to seek compensation for moral damages. As a result, the court moved to an oral examination of the case with the investigation of evidence regarding the claimed compensation demands. The prosecutor's office considers the court's decision a fair resolution of criminal-legal relations. **Crimes Revealed After the Club's Trip to Spain** The criminal process was initiated on April 21, 2025, after parents reported that a representative of the football club had committed sexual acts against their children in a hotel room in Spain from April 17 to 19 during a trip organized by the club. Later, the State Police, without naming the suspect, reported that a representative of the football club born in 1983 is suspected of sexual assault against three minors in March and April 2025. The man was taken into custody. After assessing the gathered evidence, the police proposed to the prosecutor's office to hold the man criminally liable for three completed particularly serious crimes and an attempt to commit another particularly serious crime. After Jeske's arrest, the Latvian Football Federation announced that the representative of "Babite" was suspended from any football-related activities.
