Major repair work is currently underway on Gertrudes Street, which began in August and will continue for the next six months, meaning residents will have to endure various inconveniences for half a year. What is happening on Gertrudes Street surprises both those delivering goods and passersby, but it causes the most trouble for entrepreneurs. Seeing the unusual sight, residents almost instinctively avoid the area, which significantly impacts business. Various repair works are actively being carried out on Sturmanu and Ventspils Streets. In the city center, the reconstruction of Grostonas Street is underway, improvements to the November 11th waterfront from the Stone Bridge, as well as the restoration of the pavement on Terbatas Street. Residents must consider that the repair work will last until winter.
