This weekend, Latvia will experience moderately warm autumn weather. According to meteorologists' forecasts, daytime temperatures will range from +15 to +19 degrees, which is slightly above the usual values for mid-September. The first changes in the weather will begin on Wednesday evening. A rain zone will cross the country from the west, which will persist into the night on Thursday. The air temperature will drop to +11 to +15 degrees. On Thursday, precipitation will gradually cease. In many areas, the sun will shine, but in Latgale, there will be more clouds, and the likelihood of rain will be higher. Meanwhile, in Kurzeme, the westerly wind will strengthen. No significant change in temperature is expected until the end of the week. The coolest night may be Friday night, when the temperature in some places will drop to +7 degrees. Short-term rains are possible on different days, but they are most frequently forecasted in Kurzeme and the northwestern part of Vidzeme. Meteorologists also do not rule out that on Sunday, a more extensive rain zone will approach Latvia from the west. Those planning to spend the weekend outdoors or by the sea should consider the strengthening wind. Gusts of the southwesterly wind will reach 10 to 15 meters per second, and along the coast, locally up to 18 meters per second. This means that the weather will remain comfortable for walks, but an umbrella or waterproof clothing may come in handy over the weekend, especially in the western regions of the country. According to preliminary forecasts, cooler weather will arrive in Latvia at the beginning of next week, and the likelihood of rain will increase.
