The highest values have already been recorded in Spain and Portugal. In the last 24 hours, the temperature reached +38.1 °C in Badajoz and +37.9 °C in Évora. In the coming days, these regions will remain among the hottest in Europe. In southern Portugal, as well as in southern and southwestern Spain, the air will warm up to +31…+37 °C. Hot weather will also affect parts of southern France, although extreme values are expected to be lower there. The situation looks particularly striking against the backdrop of temperature anomalies. In some areas, the figures may be 5–13 degrees above the climatic norm for the second half of September. However, not all of Europe will continue to live by a summer scenario. As a result, the contrast between regions of the continent will be particularly noticeable: while southern Europe continues to experience summer heat, temperatures in other countries will gradually decrease. Autumn does not arrive for everyone at the same time.
