"This is an area (nuclear weapons, – UNIAN) where Russia has an advantage. But, as the example of Ukraine has shown, it is difficult for them to use this advantage. If Russia could end this war through nuclear blackmail, they would have already done so," said Sikorski. He added that Russian generals have "been threatening nuclear war" against Poland for 20 years, and that "Kremlin propagandists do this continuously." He also emphasized that the Kremlin must understand what they would be risking in the event of a declaration of war against Warsaw. "Soviet comrades, and now Russians, must realize the balance of power. They must also understand what they risk when they threaten us," Sikorski added. ## ## Exchange of Threats Between Russia and Poland Recall that on September 11, Kremlin dictator Putin made a series of threats against Ukraine and the West. In particular, he stated that the introduction of European troops into Ukrainian territory would allegedly mean a war between Europe and Russia. In response, Sikorski stated that Ukraine itself should decide which troops can be on its territory. Also, in light of Putin's statement, Sikorski called on NATO to strengthen military exercises in the Kaliningrad region so that Russian authorities "do not know what to expect." Later, Patrushev claimed that Russia could allegedly use "the entire arsenal" of its forces and means against Poland in the event of a direct war. He also stated that in such a case, Polish statehood would "cease to exist within two to three days."
