Every September, Lisdoonvarna, located in western Ireland, hosts the famous matchmaking festival — Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival. For several weeks, the life of this small village completely changes. The streets, hotels, and especially the local pubs fill with people who have come to meet, socialize, and possibly find a future partner. According to the organizers, the festival attracts around 40,000 visitors — not only from different corners of Ireland but also from abroad.  ### Love Without Apps Despite the popularity of dating services, Lisdoonvarna maintains a traditional approach: the main focus here is on personal meetings. One of the key figures of the festival remains Willie Daly — a famous local matchmaker. At 83 years old, he continues to introduce single men and women, based on their personalities, interests, and wishes. Willie welcomes those interested in his unique "office" at the local bar and claims that over the years he has helped create more than 3,000 couples. ### A Village Where Love is Sought The tradition of matchmaking in Lisdoonvarna has existed for many years, yet even in the age of apps, the festival has not lost its popularity. For several weeks, this small Irish village effectively becomes an international dating hub. People come here not so much in search of the perfect profile but for dancing, conversations, chance encounters, and the opportunity to meet face to face. And while dating increasingly moves to smartphones, Lisdoonvarna continues to prove that sometimes, to find love, all you need to do is arrive at the right place at the right time.
