The Together California complex was officially opened in September 2026. Bale became passionate about the project back in 2008 when he learned how extensive the issue of foster children is in California and how often siblings are sent to different homes after being removed from their families. The actor was particularly struck by the fact that children, who have already experienced the loss of their familiar family, suffer another trauma — separation from each other. Therefore, one of the main goals of the future center became creating conditions that allow siblings to stay together. It took about 18 years to realize the idea. Bale, along with his wife Sibi, physician Eric Esrailyan, and other partners, created the charity organization Together California. Construction of the complex began in 2024. As a result, 12 fully equipped homes appeared in Palmdale. Each can accommodate a group of up to six siblings along with a professionally trained foster parent. Thus, even fairly large families will not have to be separated between several homes. In addition, the territory includes two separate studios. They are intended, in particular, for young people who are about to leave the foster care system and start independent lives. A large community center has also been built, where children will have access to social and other necessary services. The complex itself is designed not as an institution, but as an ordinary cozy residential neighborhood. Between the houses is a shared yard with a playground where children can meet, play, and socialize. Bale mentioned that he wanted to create a safe space reminiscent of closed English courtyards, familiar to him from childhood. The project cost about $22 million. Bale participated not only as a celebrity drawing attention to the initiative: for many years he worked on the project with the team, attended meetings, and helped raise funds. The first foster parents will undergo special training, after which children will begin to move into the new homes in October. The complex is designed for approximately 72 children and their caregivers. It turned out to be almost a symbolic story. On screen, Bale was Bruce Wayne for many years, saving Gotham in the Batman suit. And years later, the actor completed a much less flashy but quite real project — creating a place where children in difficult life situations can at least not lose each other.
