According to the Riga City Council, a traffic sign "Straight or Right Only" will be installed at the intersection. The municipality hopes that the changes will enhance safety and improve traffic flow. Some changes have already been made to the traffic light operation. A traffic light with a red cross signal has been installed on A. Briana Street. At the same time, the regulation program has been modified: traffic on Tallinas Street from Brivibas Street now stops earlier. As a result, drivers turning left from A. Briana Street will have additional time to complete their maneuver before traffic on Tallinas Street begins to move. Changes are also being prepared to speed up tram movement on Miera Street. A new traffic light for public transport has already been installed on Alojas Street. In the near future, the traffic light program is expected to be further adjusted so that trams have to stop less frequently at the intersection. After that, it is also planned to significantly increase the duration of the green signal for vehicles traveling on Tallinas Street.
