The Spanish company "General Dynamics European Land Systems" ("GDELS") will hand over the first infantry fighting vehicle "Hunter" to the National Armed Forces (NAF) during the event. The new factory "Patria Latvia" is being built in the Valmiera Industrial and Export Park, thus continuing the development of the company's manufacturing capabilities in Latvia. The factory will produce military equipment. Total investments in the new factory project amount to nearly eight million euros, including funding from the European Union and contributions from "Patria". The factory is planned to be completed in the third quarter of 2027. The event will be attended by the Minister of Defense, Commander of the NAF Kaspars Pudans, President and CEO of "Patria" Panu Rautila, CEO of "GDELS-Santa Bárbara Sistemas" Alejandro Page, Chairman of the Valmiera County Council Janis Baiks, Vice President of "Patria" for Business Development Ugis Romanovs, and a representative from the Ministry of Economics. The group company "Patria" "Defence Partnership Latvia" had a turnover of 3.901 million euros last year, which is an 86% increase compared to the previous year, and the company's profit increased 2.3 times to 260,063 euros. The main activity of "Defence Partnership Latvia" is the production, maintenance, and repair of combat vehicles.
