On Thursday, sunny and dry weather is expected in many regions of Latvia. According to meteorologists' forecasts, the warmest and sunniest region of the country will be Kurzeme. No precipitation is forecasted throughout the day. In the morning, fog is possible in some areas, which will gradually dissipate as the temperature rises. A weak to moderate eastern and southeastern wind will blow. During the day, the air temperature will range from +15 degrees in some areas of eastern Latvia to +22 degrees on the western coast of Kurzeme. For early October, such temperatures remain quite high. The historical record for October 1 — +23.1 degrees — was recorded in Daugavpils in 1981. In Riga, the number of clouds will decrease during the day. No precipitation is expected, the wind will remain weak, and the air will warm up to about +19 degrees. The weather in the country continues to be determined by an anticyclone. It is thanks to this that Latvia maintains calm, dry weather with high atmospheric pressure. According to preliminary forecasts, the weather will begin to change gradually in the coming days: cloud cover will increase, and rain is expected in some areas again over the weekend and early next week.
