The two youngest deputies were born in 2000 - Eduards Zivtiņš from "Latvia First" (LPM) and Selma Levrenče from "Progressives". Publicly available information indicates that neither of them has yet reached the age of 26, however, Zivtiņš is two months and two days younger than Levrenče. On the other hand, the oldest newly elected deputy is Natalia Abola from the party alliance "Sovereign Power"/"Young Latvians" (SV/Young Latvians), who celebrated her 73rd birthday this February. Of all 100 elected deputies of the Saeima, only nine were born after the restoration of Latvia's independence on May 4, 1990. Almost all deputies of the newly elected Saeima have higher education - this was confirmed by 95 of them in their declarations to the Central Election Commission. Four new deputies have not received education beyond secondary level, and one has not gone beyond basic education. Twenty-eight deputies from the current parliament have been elected to the new Saeima, as well as nine ministers from the current government, including Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs from the "United List". The Saeima also includes 21 deputies from local governments. Another 12 newly elected deputies indicated positions related to their represented political force as their main place of work. Among them are ministerial consultants, parliamentary secretaries of ministries, and assistants to Members of the European Parliament from the parties. Positions in the party or related organizations are also listed. Some deputies of the 15th Saeima indicated one of the state or municipal educational or medical institutions as their main place of work in their declarations. Thus, only a smaller portion of the newly elected deputies have previously worked in the private sector. As reported, the "United List" achieved a convincing victory in the 15th Saeima elections, obtaining 41 deputy mandates. Following them are LPM with 17 deputy seats, SV/Young Latvians with 15 seats, as well as the National Alliance and "Progressives" with ten mandates each and "New Unity" with seven mandates. Voter turnout in the 15th Saeima elections was the lowest since the restoration of independence - only 51.8%.
