On October 10 and 11, the Riga Zoo will hold its annual event 'Animal Days'. On these days, visitors whose first name or surname includes the name of an animal will receive a 50% discount on the entrance ticket. Those who have the name of an animal present in both their first name and surname will be granted free entry to the zoo. To take advantage of the offer, it is necessary to present an identification document at the ticket office. If the name or surname has foreign origins, the visitor must also confirm the meaning of the word — for example, by showing a dictionary entry or another reliable source. The organizers remind that this applies not only to mammals. Names of birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and other representatives of the animal world also qualify under the terms of the promotion. Therefore, it is worth checking the origin and meaning of one's name or surname before visiting — it may also entitle them to a discount. Additionally, this weekend will be the last before the Riga Zoo transitions to its winter operating hours. Starting October 12, it will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with ticket offices and entrance gates operating until 4:00 PM. Until the end of the week, visitors can still stroll through the zoo grounds until 7:00 PM, combining an evening walk with participation in the annual promotion.
