The funds were allocated by the Riga City Council and the Jan Olshzewski Foundation "Help for Poles in the East," the council reported. The total cost of the project amounted to approximately 916,523 euros. Of this amount, 833,125 euros were provided by the foundation, while the co-financing from the Riga City Council was 83,525 euros. The sports complex features a long jump sector, a running track, an outdoor exercise area, a bouldering wall — one of the types of sport climbing — as well as gymnastic and play areas for preschoolers of different ages. The project was implemented over two years. The Riga Polish Secondary School named after Itta Kozakiewicz and the Property Department of the Riga City Council were responsible for its execution. It is worth noting that the Riga Polish Secondary School was founded in 1991. The educational institution includes a preschool department, primary and secondary schools. Currently, 441 children are enrolled here. The "Help for Poles in the East" foundation was established by former Polish Prime Minister Jan Olshzewski after his departure from active politics. The organization provides support to Polish communities living outside of Poland.
