What are "sleep wrinkles" In the morning, many women notice unpleasant creases on their faces, known as "sleep wrinkles." They can appear in the areas of the cheeks, nasolabial folds, or around the eyes. The cause of their appearance is the deformation of the skin by the pillow when sleeping on one's side or stomach. This phenomenon was first mentioned at the World Congress of Dermatologists and Cosmetologists in 1987 by Samuel Stegman, who suggested that avoiding their appearance is possible by adopting the correct sleeping position. What to do 1. Pillow The first and foremost recommendation is to sleep on your back and use the right pillow. Many women may argue that changing the habit of sleeping on their stomach is difficult, and they continue to sleep in a comfortable position. In this case, special orthopedic or "beauty pillows" can be used to help avoid skin creases and reduce strain on the neck and collar area. 2. Botox Botulinum therapy can be used to relax the areas where wrinkles form. Botox preparations (Dysport, Xeomin, Relatox, Myatox) help eliminate muscle hyperactivity in the problem area, which prevents the formation of wrinkles. 3. Mesotherapy A doctor may prescribe preparations that promote the synthesis of collagen and elastin, which will increase skin elasticity. For example, hyaluronic acid injections help reduce the manifestation of sleep wrinkles. 4. Cream If injection procedures are not suitable, creams with botulinum toxin analogs, such as Argireline, can be used to help relax the muscles and strengthen the skin in vulnerable areas, reducing the visibility of sleep wrinkles. Unfortunately, hardware techniques cannot influence the formation of sleep wrinkles and are only prescribed for correcting deeper skin changes. 5. Sleep Regimen Establishing a sleep regimen, including 8-9 hours of sleep and a preference for sleeping on your back, can significantly improve the situation. Angelika Ivaglo.
