"Pugacheva says: 'I sometimes composed under a shot glass.' I think we should listen to the advice of the older generation. I sat down at the piano, poured 50 grams of vodka, and hit it. I started playing — nothing gets composed. I think: 'No, this path is not for me.' Because personally, when I drink, I simplify. I become simple, kind," the musician stated to journalists. According to Gubin, in his case, alcohol does not contribute to creativity. He is convinced that a clear mind is needed for composing poetry and music. "I haven't written a single line under alcohol. And daily alcohol consumption, of course, harms creativity. Creativity is the soul, and alcohol nails it down," Gubin believes. Earlier, the 52-year-old musician talked about his daily routine. He composes music every day. "I wake up in the morning, train for an hour, and then write from morning till night," Andrey shared on the show 'You Won't Believe It!' According to the artist, he lives very modestly. Currently, Gubin's income mainly comes from royalties from old songs, so he tries to save every penny and cut expenses. The musician travels around Moscow by metro or bicycle and eats at fast food restaurants. The artist does not intend to return to the stage: he is dissatisfied with his appearance and complains of constant ailments. Doctors diagnosed him with left-sided prosopalgia in the early 2000s, causing excruciating pain in his temples, cheekbones, nose, and jaw. The artist is also troubled by his heart, which, according to him, "beats irregularly." "It's a disgrace to go out like this, to work like this. Such work won't revive me. I won't go on stage. I am a lame, hunchbacked person," the musician lamented in an interview with Ksenia Sobchak.
