To find out whether the unstable situation with fuel prices could become that bad, journalists asked several representatives of gas stations to comment on this information. Arnita Hilmane, communications manager at "Virši-A", provides a detailed explanation: “Currently, market analytics do not indicate a significant further increase in fuel prices. At the same time, the price dynamics of fuel products on the exchange are volatile and are influenced by both the geopolitical situation and supply conditions. It should also be noted that according to the Law on Limiting the Growth of Fuel Prices, reduced excise tax rates are in effect until the end of the current year. If the regulation is not changed, then from January 1, 2027, the impact of tax changes on the price of gasoline would be 8 cents per liter, and on the price of diesel fuel — 16.5 cents per liter.” In turn, representatives of "Neste" and "Circle K" comment more cautiously, pointing out that there are several fluctuating factors affecting fuel prices, so it is impossible to say whether there is a likelihood that the price of fuel could reach the mark of 3 euros per liter.
