Kulbergs has never hidden his interest in cars and motorsport and decided to take a break shortly before the new Saeima begins its work — to start in a rally. The Prime Minister will drive a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI and will compete in the historic car category (Historic), completing the full distance of the rally. His co-driver will be Andis Veinbergs. Andris Kulbergs has already won the mini-rally Latvija 2024 in the historic car category. The Latvian rally sprint will take place on October 31 and November 1. It will be the final stage of several tournaments: the Latvian Rally Championship (LRČ), the Latvian Rally Cup, the Latvian Rally Sprint Cup, the Latvian Historic Car Rally Cup, and the MRF Tyres Junior Challenge of Mārtiņš Sesks. Participants in the SSV buggy class will compete for the SRT Cup. This year, the Latvian rally sprint is also included in the calendar of the Estonian Rally Sprint Cup, so participants from the neighboring country are expected. The rally will start on Saturday, October 31, with two gravel special stages in the dark — the first run is scheduled for 20:00. On Sunday, November 1, the crews will complete the remaining five special stages, already on asphalt at the Biķernieki track. The start is at 11:00. For the participants of the rally sprint category, the distance will be shorter: they will complete the first six out of seven special stages. In the final special stage of the rally and the entire season at Biķernieku trase, 60! participants of the Latvian Rally Championship, the Latvian Rally Cup, and the Latvian Historic Car Rally Cup will start, including the Prime Minister. ## ## Season Finale of Mini-Rally — Autumn Challenge in Biķernieki On the day of October 31, there will also be no shortage of excitement at the Biķernieki track: the decisive battle of the mini-rally championship participants will unfold there. The mini-rally crews will face two special stages, each of which must be completed three times. The route is laid out both on the asphalt sections of the Biķernieki track and on the gravel sections of the rallycross track, as well as on the speedway stadium. Mini-rally is a rally-type competition that can be participated in with standard cars. The special stages are relatively short: the maximum distance is up to 25 km. Before the start, participants receive a ready-made route transcript, which can be checked once on-site.
