The meeting reviewed and discussed an analysis of military threats prepared by the Military Intelligence and Security Service. The Council emphasized that Russia continues to pose the main military threat to the security of Latvia and a long-term threat in the Euro-Atlantic space. At the same time, the assessment of the likelihood of a large-scale military attack by Russia on NATO remains unchanged: this likelihood is considered low given that Russian military resources are engaged in Ukraine. Meanwhile, the risks to security related to Russia's subversive activities across Europe have significantly increased, especially concerning the infrastructure supporting Ukraine and defense industry enterprises. The Council urged every resident to responsibly participate in strengthening national security, including reporting suspicious activities to law enforcement and taking care to protect themselves, those around them, and critical infrastructure facilities.
