As the LETA agency found out, there was no consensus in the commission regarding this decision, but the majority of deputies expressed support for issuing a warning to Yudin. Yudin told the LETA agency that his reputation has been damaged. "The decision was made without any fact-checking," said the deputy. He believes that political opponents decided to use the situation to settle scores with him without investigation and fact-finding. According to Yudin, this decision cannot be appealed, so he plans to turn to the Constitutional Court (CC). "The process in the CC will take time, but there is no other way. I have been harmed, I am punished for a violation I did not commit. Dirty political games are being played here," Yudin said. The State Police confirmed to the LETA agency that the police received a complaint against Yudin and initiated an internal investigation. The chairman of the commission on mandates, ethics, and statements, Janis Vucans (Union of Greens and Farmers), previously reported that the commission received a complaint from Deputy Linda Liepina (Latvia First, LPM) about a possible violation of the code of ethics for deputies. The complaint is based on information presented in a statement by a parliamentary employee. A discussion unfolded among the commission members about whether to consider the issue in an open or closed session. Deputy Edmunds Zivtiņš (LPM) pointed out that the complaint contains sensitive information and personal data, so the session should be closed. For his part, Yudin noted that the session should not be closed and suggested not disclosing the personal data of the employee. He stated that the accusations against him are unproven and he sees attempts to harm his reputation. Liepina explained at the commission meeting that she only received and passed on information about a situation in which she was not present herself. She noted that when assessing the complaint, it will inevitably touch upon sensitive information, including personal data. Yudin again emphasized at the commission meeting that the situation is being assessed by responsible institutions and we should wait for their conclusions. He pointed out that he sees no guilt in the actions he is accused of. "I understand that the information I provided was unpleasant," Yudin said, commenting on the incident. In the deputy's opinion, instead of considering the situation, he was publicly accused for political reasons.
