As already reported by BB.LV, on September 12, in the Stopiņi municipality of the Ropaži region, the municipal police stopped a "Škoda" car, which was being driven by the then Minister of Welfare, Reinis Uzulnieks. When checked, the alcohol concentration in his breath was found to be 3.09 per mille. The State Police arrived at the scene, initiated a criminal process, and the car was seized. Now, an auction site has announced the sale of a 2022 "Škoda Kodiaq". Several details match the previously published information about Uzulnieks' car. As LA.LV reported in September, the former minister's official declaration indicated that he owned a 2022 "Škoda Kodiaq". The car offered at the auction is also of this model and year. Moreover, the announcement states that the vehicle has been parked at the State Agency for Asset Management since September 13 — the day after Uzulnieks' detention. The auction rules reveal another notable coincidence: the decision to sell this car was made by investigators of the Eastern section of the Suburban Management of the State Police on September 15. Although these facts indicate a very likely connection, the name of the former minister is not mentioned in the auction documents. Therefore, there is currently no official confirmation that the car for sale is indeed the one that belonged to him. According to the information available in the auction announcement, a gray "Škoda Kodiaq" 2022 model with the state registration number RU73 is up for sale. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a power of 110 kilowatts, has five seating places, and a mileage of 69,100 kilometers. The technical inspection of the vehicle is valid until December 7, 2026. One key is available with the car. The starting price of the auction is set at 16,000 euros, and each subsequent bid will be 160 euros. The auction starts on October 21 at 13:00 and ends on November 20 at 13:00. To participate, a deposit of 1,600 euros must be submitted and registration for the auction completed by November 10. The car is located at the State Agency for Asset Management at 3 Rayumsila Street in Riga, where it can be viewed by appointment. The auction organizers also indicate that a technical diagnosis of the vehicle has not been conducted, so buyers should assess its condition independently.
