The Israeli minister supported Donald Trump's idea, which suggests organizing the departure of the Palestinian population. Ben-Gvir noted that those residents of Gaza who agree to leave the territory should be provided with decent living conditions in the new location. He emphasized that European countries are capable of accepting these people. At the same time, the head of the security agency rejected the Palestinians' claims to the right to remain on this land for historical reasons. He pointed to the attack by Hamas militants on Israeli settlements on October 7, 2023, stating that after these events, the residents of the enclave lost the moral right to claim to stay in the region. This is not the first similar statement from the Israeli minister regarding the future of the Palestinian enclave. Previously, the politician posted computer-generated videos on social media showing the relocation of residents from the Gaza Strip to Paris. Additionally, he has consistently advocated for massive strikes on targets in the enclave and conducting targeted operations against leaders of armed groups. Itamar Ben-Gvir heads the right-wing party "Otzma Yehudit," whose representatives are part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition government. Ahead of the parliamentary elections on October 27, the leader of the movement demanded that his political force be given control of the Ministry of Defense in the new cabinet. Official representatives of France and the United Kingdom have not yet provided official comments regarding the Israeli minister's proposals for accepting refugees. The international community has previously stated that the forced relocation of civilians contradicts international law.
