A Large Light Festival Will Open in Riga: Over 200 Installations and Thousands of Lights

In Riga, preparations are underway for the opening of the festival "Magic in the Botanical Garden" (Maģija Botāniskajā dārzā), which will last until January 31, 2027. Visitors are promised over 200 light compositions, thousands of colorful lights, and an unusual atmosphere of a winter fairy tale. As darkness falls, the familiar alleys of the Botanical Garden will be completely transformed. Glowing figures of animals and birds, fairy tale characters, fantastic creatures, and huge floral compositions will appear among the trees. A walking route nearly two kilometers long will be prepared for guests. It will feature themed zones, artistic installations, and special photo spots. The organizers hope that the festival will attract both families with children and groups of friends and couples looking to spend a romantic evening. A unique aspect of the event is the combination of the natural landscape of the Botanical Garden with modern lighting technologies. When can you visit the festival? The exhibition will open on November 6 and will operate from Thursday to Sunday until the end of January. * November 6–8: entry from 17:30 to 21:15. * November 12 – January 17: entry from 17:00 to 21:15. * January 21–31: entry from 17:30 to 21:15. On all days, the festival will conclude at 22:00. The event will take place at the Latvian University Botanical Garden in Pardaugava. Children up to five years old inclusive can enter for free when accompanied by adults. Regular entrance tickets and subscriptions to the Botanical Garden will not be valid during the festival — a separate ticket will be required.
