The U.S. State Department approved the sale of 500 Patriot missiles to Ukraine for $2.1 billion

"This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by enhancing the security of a partner country, which is a factor in political and economic stability in Europe. Ukraine will finance this purchase through donations from Canada, Germany, and Norway under the JUMPSTART program, as well as through national funds financed by a European Union loan to support Ukraine. U.S. funds are not involved in this deal," the statement says, as quoted by the UNIAN agency.
