The decision to withdraw was made by the Dutch public broadcasting corporation (NPO). According to Kulturologia.ru, organizing a performance for the country's representative proved impossible due to serious disagreements among the broadcaster's staff and negative public reaction. The situation regarding the Netherlands' participation in the contest remained tense for several months. Back in August, the broadcaster AVROTROS announced its intention to boycott 'Eurovision' due to Israel's presence. Later, the NPO management attempted to reconsider this decision and bring the country back into the list of participants. However, such an initiative sparked protests among public broadcasting employees. About 400 staff members signed a collective appeal demanding to withdraw from the contest. NPO General Director Yette de Ranic acknowledged that the organization was unable to find either a performer or a broadcasting company willing to take on the preparation of the Dutch representative. According to her, consultations showed that the disagreements surrounding the contest were too deep, and the emotional tension did not allow for the continuation of preparations for the performance. The Netherlands is not the only country that has decided to withdraw from 'Eurovision-2027'. Earlier, Ireland expressed a similar intention. In Spain, the management of the national broadcaster RTVE also supported the idea of a boycott. Additionally, the Czech Republic announced its withdrawal. However, in its case, the decision is explained by financial difficulties and budget cuts, rather than political reasons. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which organizes 'Eurovision', expressed regret over the Netherlands' decision. Representatives of the organization emphasized that they respect the positions of national broadcasters and still view the contest as a platform capable of uniting people through music. Thus, 'Eurovision-2027' risks taking place without several European countries, and the disputes surrounding Israel's participation continue to create serious problems for the organizers of one of the world's most famous music competitions.
