All proceeds are intended to support the relatives of 33 residents of Latvia who went missing as a result of the devastating floods in Nepal and Tibet. As the organizers of the event informed the LETA agency, the concluding event will start at 12:00. It is at this time that it will be revealed how much money has been raised thanks to the initiative of Latvian artists. More than 30 authors have provided their works for the charity auction. Among them are Ieva Taranda, whose family members died during the disaster, as well as well-known Latvian artists Elita Patmalniece, Kristine Luize Avotina, and Sabine Liva. All funds raised from the sale of artworks will be directed to assist the families of the missing. The host of the concluding event will be Liene Stepena. Participants will include Ieva Taranda, Kristine Luize Avotina, Elita Patmalniece, Sabine Liva, Janis Dukats, Ilgnes Avotina, and other participants of the charitable initiative. The organizers of the event are Andris Taranda — the brother of the missing Agnes Furmane in Nepal, Ieva Taranda, and Mara Andersone-Freimane. Recall that at the end of August, Nepal and Tibet suffered from catastrophic floods. According to published data, the disaster claimed the lives of about 1450 people, and more than 4500 are reported missing. Among those missing in China and Nepal are 33 citizens and residents of Latvia. Their relatives continue to need support, and the charity event in Riga aims to help the families facing this tragedy.
