Renée Zellweger Will Travel Back in Time with Peter Dinklage: What We Know About the New Film

The director and screenwriter of the project will be Sasha Jervasi, known for the films "Hitchcock" and "My Dinner with Hervé." The plot centers around Kate Spencer — a once-popular actress whom the film industry has long forgotten. Suddenly, the woman receives an offer to reprise her most famous role. However, this is not about a continuation of a TV series or a return to the screen. The invitation comes from an eccentric billionaire who made his fortune in technology. The wealthy man, played by Dominic Sessa, has purchased an old English estate and restored it to how it was in 1923. Moreover, he has completely turned his back on modern life and created his own world where time seems to have stopped a hundred years ago. It is in this unusual space that Zellweger's character will once again transform into her famous persona. Gradually, the actress begins to understand that the line between fiction and reality is much thinner than it initially seemed. Peter Dinklage has also joined the cast, but details about his role are still under wraps. This will not be the actor's first collaboration with Jervasi; they previously worked together on the film "My Dinner with Hervé." The film will be produced by Rocket Science, Monumental Pictures, and Portobello Electric. The producers include Alison Owen, Debra Hayward, and Jim Garavente. The executive producer will be director Alexander Payne, who directed the films "The Descendants" and "Sideways." Filming for "Darlington" is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2027 in the UK. The exact premiere date has not yet been announced.
