Storing and the shelf life of cosmetics is a complex issue. Even the most experienced "beauty users" sometimes find that their favorite eyeliner has dried out and refuses to draw a line. This usually happens at the most inconvenient moment when a replacement is not at hand. In such a situation, it is important to stay calm and try to solve the problem on your own. We have gathered several life hacks that will help revive dried-out eyeliner and bring it back to life in just a few minutes. Shake It If you hear a ball rolling inside the eyeliner, it is a mechanism that prevents the product from drying out. Try shaking the liner — this will help make the texture less thick. Draw a Line Another way to bring life back to dried-out eyeliner is to draw the liner on the back or front of your hand. This is not the most economical solution, as you will have to do this until a clear line appears, but the method works. Moisten A felt-tip liner can be temporarily wrapped in a paper towel soaked in hot water. However, do not soak the liner under running water, as this may ruin the formula and texture of the product. If the eyeliner is stored improperly, for example, in a place that is too hot, it may lead to the ink hardening. Submerging the liner in hot water may help. Pour hot water into a cup, dip the tightly closed eyeliner tip down into it, and leave it for a few minutes. Then shake the liner and check how it works. Eye Drops If the eyeliner clumps, first break the crust of dried paint with a toothpick or pin, and then add a few drops of eye drops to soften the consistency. However, it is better not to let it get to this point and to update your makeup collection in time. Last Resort If you are desperate and no methods are helping, you can try a last resort method. Unscrew the back of the liner, remove the ink cartridge, and dip it in warm water for a few seconds. Do not leave it too long to avoid it getting soggy. After that, blot the cartridge with a paper towel, insert it back, and screw the cap tightly. Store the revived liner tip down so that the water distributes evenly. For better moisturization, add a few drops of glycerin to the water — this will help prevent drying out.
