50 new speed bumps will be installed, and four existing ones will be repaired. Of the 50 new speed bumps, 46 will be modular, while four locations will feature standard or asphalt-concrete speed bumps. The speed bumps are primarily planned to be installed in residential areas and on streets near residential buildings, where it is important to ensure lower vehicle speeds. Such measures help drivers adhere to the established speed limits and create a safer environment for pedestrians, cyclists, and other less protected road users. The installation of speed bumps is planned in neighborhoods of Riga such as Bieriņi, Bolderāja, Brasa, Čiekurkalns, Dārziņi, Dreiliņi, Dzirciems, Imanta, Kengarags, Pleskodāle, Plavnieki, Purvciems, Teika, Ziepniekkalns, and Zolitūde. Specific locations for the installation of speed bumps have been chosen considering traffic organization and the need to reduce vehicle speeds in those areas, the municipality noted.
