Russian military equipment spotted in the occupied city of Alyoshki (Ukrainian name - Oleshki) during the ceasefire was used for demining under the control of the Ukrainian side, stated the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets. At a press conference following a humanitarian operation, he denied reports that Russian troops took advantage of the pause to transfer equipment, ammunition, and change personnel in the city. ## The Russian military equipment visible in the video published by Sky News returned to its positions after demining. "I do not dare to make assessments. I am talking about what happened under my control. The video can be interpreted in different ways," he added. ## Lubinets: There were no violations of the silence regime According to Lubinets, the strengthening of positions during the silence regime was explicitly prohibited by the agreements reached. "This was not just discussed, we wrote it down in the document," he emphasized. The ombudsman also quoted the text of the agreement with Russia: "The concentration and movement of equipment is prohibited." He also reported that no violations were recorded during the ceasefire. At the same time, Lubinets explained why residents of Alyoshki were evacuated through Russia. The evacuation route directly across the river to Kherson was never considered due to the inadmissibility of weakening the Ukrainian defense along the front line running along the Dnipro. ## In addition to the Ukrainian military, the SBU and military intelligence were also involved in preparing the evacuation plan. "This logistical route was developed with two main criteria in mind: the first - the safety of people, the second - speed," he explained. ## The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine accused Russia of transferring equipment and troops Earlier that same day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that Russia took advantage of the ceasefire in Alyoshki to strengthen its military positions. During the humanitarian pause, Russian military personnel engaged in strengthening their positions, as well as expanded the use of anti-drone measures on the roads and increased supply volumes, including through the delivery of ammunition, the Armed Forces noted. For its part, the British channel Sky News published drone footage showing Russian units moving heavy equipment and ammunition into the city, as well as changing personnel. "Under the cover of the ceasefire, Russian soldiers began moving heavy military equipment and ammunition. Heavy armored vehicles were clearly visible on the streets. Ukrainians say that none of this relates to the humanitarian mission," the journalists stated. ## Timelines and conditions of the humanitarian pause The ceasefire in Alyoshki and the surrounding areas began early in the morning on October 27 and ended at 22:59 on November 1. It was the result of agreements between the parties with the participation of the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, whom Moscow and Kyiv refer to as a key mediator in organizing the ceasefire. As part of the humanitarian operation, hundreds of civilians were evacuated from the city. In addition, humanitarian cargoes were delivered there. The exact number of evacuees was agreed not to be disclosed, stated Dmytro Lubinets.
