Negotiations involving representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States are scheduled for November 10–11 in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Their conduct has been confirmed both in Moscow and Washington. Previously, the U.S. special envoy for Ukraine, Steve Whitcoff, stated that the American side would act as a mediator in meetings between representatives of Kyiv and Moscow. Additionally, separate negotiations between Russia and the U.S. are planned. According to Whitcoff, the main topics will include security guarantees for Ukraine after the war, de-escalation, humanitarian aid, and further steps towards a peaceful settlement. The American representative expressed hope that the upcoming meetings would build on the results of previous contacts in Kyiv, Oslo, and St. Petersburg and move closer to concluding a comprehensive and sustainable peace agreement. Trilateral negotiations mediated by the U.S. have taken place before, but this process was suspended in February of this year. In October, Whitcoff met with Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg. The day before, he held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European representatives. Now, diplomatic contacts are set to resume in Abu Dhabi. However, the composition of the Ukrainian delegation and specific proposals from the parties have not been specified in the announcement.
