According to meteorologists' forecasts, the air temperature in Latvia will range from -3 to +3 degrees Celsius on the night of Wednesday, while some coastal areas will experience warmer weather, up to +7 degrees Celsius. As reported by the LETA agency, the sky will be mostly partly cloudy at night. Brief rain showers are expected in some areas at the beginning of the night. A weak northern and northwestern wind is anticipated, but gusts along the coast may reach 15 meters per second. The main danger will arise by morning when wet sections of the road surface may be covered with a thin layer of ice at sub-zero temperatures. Drivers should be particularly cautious on bridges, overpasses, and less busy roads. ## It Will Warm Up During the Day, but Precipitation Will Return Throughout Wednesday, cloud cover will gradually increase. In some areas, mainly in Vidzeme, light precipitation is expected starting from the northwestern regions. The wind will generally be weak, but it will strengthen again along the coast by evening. Gusts of the western and northwestern wind may reach 14 meters per second. The air temperature will vary significantly by region: in the eastern part of the country, thermometers will show only +3 to +5 degrees Celsius, while along the coast, the air will warm up to +11 degrees Celsius. ## What Weather to Expect in Riga In the capital, brief rain is possible at the beginning of the night. In the morning and during the day, the sun will occasionally peek through, but in the afternoon, the sky will become overcast. A light rain is not excluded. The gusty northern wind will gradually weaken and shift to the west. In the morning, the air temperature will range from -1 degree Celsius in some areas of the Riga region to +7 degrees Celsius in Jurmala. In the afternoon and evening, it will warm up in Riga to +8 to +9 degrees Celsius. Thus, the most unpleasant period for motorists will be the early morning of Wednesday: even with relatively warm daytime weather, some sections of the roads may remain slippery.
