In the coming days, Latvia will continue to be under the influence of an anticyclone, so no significant precipitation is expected until the end of the week. According to the LETA agency, citing meteorologists' forecasts, cloud cover will be variable in the second half of the week, with some areas possibly experiencing light, short-lived rain. At the same time, air temperatures will gradually decrease, and in some regions, frosts are expected at night. ### Warmer Weather on Thursday with Temperatures Reaching +12 Degrees The warmest day of the remaining week is forecasted to be Thursday, November 5. Air temperatures in Latvia will rise to +8…+12 degrees. However, in the following days, the maximum temperature will not reach +10 degrees. The coldest weather is expected on the night of Saturday, November 7, in Latgale, where thermometer readings may drop to -4 degrees. Thus, the difference between the daytime temperature on Thursday and the minimum nighttime temperature on Saturday in some regions of the country may reach 16 degrees. ### On the Coast, Winds Will Strengthen to 18 Meters per Second Despite the absence of heavy precipitation, the weather will not be calm everywhere. On Thursday and into Friday night, a strengthening northwestern wind is expected along the coast. Gusts may reach 18 meters per second. Over the weekend, the wind will gradually weaken and shift to the west. Its speed will mainly be weak or moderate. Occasionally, light precipitation is possible in some areas, mainly short-lived rain. ### More Precipitation May Occur Next Week According to preliminary forecasts, the weather pattern may change next week. Meteorologists anticipate an increase in precipitation, especially in the second half of the week. Air temperatures are expected to be somewhat lower than in the first days of November. However, this is still a preliminary trend that may be refined as the relevant dates approach. ### What Will the Weather Be Like in the Second Half of November? According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), the average air temperature in Latvia in the first half of November will be predominantly close to the climatic norm. In the second half of the month, somewhat warmer weather is expected compared to long-term averages. At the same time, an increase in precipitation is forecasted. This means that the second half of November may turn out to be wetter, although the temperature will be slightly above the usual for this time of year.
