"The Commission found that Latvia has satisfactorily fulfilled the 25 milestones and 31 targets of this fifth and final payment request set out in the Council Implementing Decisions," the EC said.

Following the remaining approval procedures, the final payment is expected to be received in the state budget by the end of the year, meaning in total Latvia will have attracted all of the EUR 1.97 billion of RF funding available to it.
