During police raids in Ankara nightclubs, 34 Russian women were detained. The raids took place on October 23, but the information about the detentions became known only on Wednesday, November 4, from reports by state agencies TASS and 'RIA Novosti', citing the Russian embassy in Turkey. The Russian women were detained in the clubs 'Havana', 'Maxim', and 'Follyberger'. Turkish authorities accused them of 'violating morality and public safety'. The Russian citizens are currently in the capital's deportation center 'Akyurt', where they are being assisted by a Turkish lawyer. According to diplomats, their smartphones were confiscated, but they can communicate with relatives using a landline phone. 'A court session is planned in the near future, after which a decision will be made regarding their further fate,' the embassy reported. After the court, the Russian women will be deported, RIA Novosti indicates, citing a source in local law enforcement agencies. ## ## Baza: More than 100 girls detained in total In total, more than 100 girls from former Soviet countries were detained during the raids, and they are accused of prostitution, writes the Telegram channel Baza, which was the first to report the detention of the Russian women. 'They were offered jobs as dancers, vocalists, or DJs. But upon arrival, it turned out that in addition to performances, they would have to spend time with the guests of the establishments and drink alcohol with them, stimulating additional expenses,' Baza writes, citing a friend of one of the detainees who found herself in a similar situation in 2021.
