The First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, will host representatives from Ukraine and Russia in Washington on Thursday, November 5. This was announced by the White House, as reported by the LETA agency citing AFP. The meetings are expected to focus on humanitarian issues amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. ### Who Will Come to Washington? Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, confirmed that he is heading to the American capital, where he has a meeting scheduled with the First Lady of the United States. "I am heading to Washington. Important meetings are ahead," he stated. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the Russian side will be represented by Vladimir Putin's advisor Kirill Dmitriev and Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova. Peskov clarified that their meeting with Melania Trump will take place provided that all logistical issues are resolved. However, the published messages do not indicate that the representatives of Russia and Ukraine will necessarily meet with each other at the same table. There may be separate negotiations with the First Lady of the United States. ### Four-Day Ceasefire in Oleshky The meetings in Washington will follow Melania Trump's humanitarian initiative related to the city of Oleshky in the territory of the Kherson region occupied by Russia. Last month, the First Lady of the United States announced the achievement of a local ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. It began on October 27 and lasted four days. According to published information, the temporary ceasefire allowed civilians to leave the occupied city. This agreement was described as the longest ceasefire during the war. ### Zelensky Awards Melania Trump On Wednesday, November 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the First Lady of the United States the Order of Princess Olga. The award was given for her contribution to achieving the local ceasefire in Oleshky. The Order of Princess Olga is a state award of Ukraine that honors women for outstanding achievements in various fields of public and state activity. It is not yet reported what specific agreements may be reached as a result of the upcoming meetings in Washington.
