### "It is possible. It is a lie" The organizer of the action, owner of the farm "Kalve" Gundars Kalve, sharply criticized the Prime Minister's statement about the impossibility of stopping the transit of grain of Russian origin. "It is possible. It is a lie," he stated on [TV3](https://tv3.lv/zinas/latvija/sabiedriba/tie-ir-meli-kalve-asi-kritize-premjera-teikto-par-asinaino-graudu-tranzitu-un-aicina-uz-protestu/). According to Kalve, the issue concerns not only the economy and the interests of Latvian producers but also safety and moral responsibility. The action is organized by the public movement "No to Bloody Grain!", which advocates for the cessation of the transportation of Russian grain through Latvia. Kalve also linked the upcoming protest to support for Ukrainian farmers. > "This issue is largely related to agriculture and our production. On the other hand, we have our Ukrainian friends who are currently stuck in ports with their grain and cannot move forward because the Black Sea is blocked. So this is a kind of cooperation between Latvian and Ukrainian farmers," the organizer explained. ### Tractors may stretch for 15 kilometers The protest will begin on November 7 at 11:00 at: Jekabpils, Madonas Street, 20A. The program includes speeches from participants and an official part, which will be led by Professor Maris Andžāns from the University of Stradiņš. At 14:00, a procession of agricultural machinery is planned through Jekabpils and the bypass road towards Riga. The total length of the route will be about 22 kilometers. According to Kalve, the column of tractors and other machinery could stretch for 15 kilometers, occupying a significant part of the space between Krustpils and Jekabpils. The organizers urge farmers to come with their own agricultural machinery to emphasize the connection of the protest with the interests of the industry. ### The government is given two weeks This time, the organizers do not intend to obstruct rail transport. > "This time we promised only to demonstrate our attitude towards what is happening on the Latvian railway concerning bloody cargoes. This time it will be a peaceful gathering where we will show our readiness to go further," Kalve stated. However, he warned that the Saturday event could be just the first stage. According to the organizer, the government will be given two weeks to completely stop the transit of Russian grain. If this does not happen, on November 22, the protesters intend to take more decisive actions. > "If this does not happen, then on November 22 we will move to the next stage of escalation," Kalve said. ### The next step - blocking freight trains Kalve does not rule out that the next action will be directed specifically against rail transport. > "It will be a complete blockade of freight transport, blocking trains and preventing them from moving further through Krustpils or possibly even closer to the border," he stated. Thus, the organizers are currently limiting themselves to a peaceful gathering and a demonstration of agricultural machinery but warn of the possibility of blocking railway traffic in the future. This concerns the intentions of the protesters: the decision to stop the transit of Russian grain by the government has not yet been announced.
