Prada's festive advertising campaign is titled "Drawing Prada: Animated By Hand." Its main feature is the combination of traditional hand-drawn animation with footage featuring real actors. Instead of entrusting the creation of images to artificial intelligence, the fashion house enlisted professional artists who manually illustrated the frames of the animated story. The animation project was led by John Pomeroi, a well-known American animator who has worked for many years on animated films for Disney and other studios. The artistic concept was overseen by Prada's creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons. The campaign was also developed with the involvement of director Ferdinando Verderi. Celebrities were also part of the project. The stars of the festive story included actresses Sadie Sink and Maya Hawke, and actors Chen Haoyu, Luther Ford, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. The creators of the advertisement aimed to convey a special atmosphere that cannot be achieved with perfectly calibrated computer-generated images. They believe that it is the small imperfections of hand-drawn lines, the individual style of the artist, and the feeling of live creativity that make the visual story truly emotional. The new campaign serves as a response to the rapid spread of artificial intelligence in the advertising industry. While some companies use neural networks to cut costs and speed up content production, Prada chose to emphasize the value of human labor. This approach received a positive reaction on social media. Users noted the expressiveness of hand-drawn animation and thanked the brand for supporting artists. Marketing experts also saw this initiative as an important signal for the industry. Against the backdrop of the growing number of images and videos created by neural networks, traditional artistic techniques may once again become a competitive advantage. Thus, Prada reminded us that in the age of artificial intelligence, true luxury may not be technological perfection, but work done by human hands.
